The current  progressive attempt to reconstitute a more progressive program is going to be crushed by the urgency of environmental projects to cope with warming and its consequences. which will be system wide and filled with the emergence of new  (and old)  ideas, new (and old) alliances, and possibly  some development of a progressive compassionate politics and policy.
