Have you by any chance read any of Bernard Stiegler? In particular his automatic society: the future of work. He suggests that financialization has the goal of capturing system profit without redistribution. The “without redistribution” caught my eye. Applying it to greening, we get that the aim of greening the economy is to use greening as a way of keeping the economy going without increased redistribution of the profits from the new system.
I am struck by the quality of writing going on in the world but also by it’s limited impact. It is as if each person stays in their own information hot tub believing strongly in the system view that is only local. What is written in the hot tub B would really shift the argument in hot tub A, but neither read each other. So nothing moves and the good writing is relatively impotent.
