1749. Political theory

In the las years I have been mostly focused on economics as a necessary prelude to GardenWorld politics. Recently I have been shifting to include political thinking, since the relationship between the two is,  shall we say,  intimate if not incestuous. The rich hire  the lobbyists to get the economy that will make them rich so they can pay the lobbyists… Gerbil exercise wheel.

Two recent readings worth mentioning

1. Sheldon Wolin’s large book Politics and Vision. We just don’t know enough of this history, so how can we do the future?

Politics and Vision: Continuity and Innovation in Western Political Thought (Princeton Classics)

2  And the very helpful entry in Wikipedia for Machiavelli. Reading it is a good short course in political theory

Both highly recommended
