My thinking go like this: good jobs, or good lives? They are not as closely tied as they used to be. In agricultural society the elites needed agricultural workers. In Industrial society elites needed orders. But in a digital society is is unclear who is needed. Managing our way through this, with good jobs AND alternative ways of distributing incomes is our task, bearing in mind that increased demand for any kind of job increases the incentive to find ways to automate that job.   Getting to the good for humanity is going to be damn hard. Our task. Requires that we use everything we know and then some.
