Economics helps capitalism manage society for the good of capital,  extracting wealth from land and people. There is no vision of how this helps society beyond the “more stuff” vision.

How did we get in, and is there a way out? Capitalism is a way of managing the growth of a society. It begins with cattle  and herd management. The Latin for a new head of cattle was the Latin word cap, head . The new head of  cattle was the new capital. For the Romans cattle, “Head of cattle”, was the measure of wealth.
